MyMySpaceMail

MyMySpaceMail is dead.

Myspace sent me an evil c&d letter. After this I used to offer keys for the software for people desperate to manage large MySpace email queues, but it became too much of a hassle to keep up with Myspace's page layout changes. They don't have an API (like google or amazon) so you can't really write third party tools for their crap site.

So you can download the software, but it will be unusable, sorry.

Description.

MyMySpaceMail is a mail client for MySpace comments, mail, friend requests, etc. It depends on page layout details that change about once every three weeks. So check for updates of this program. The toolbar icons are borrowed from Mail.app. And the layout too. Jonathan Lane drew the application icon

The first time you run MyMySpaceMail you might have to wait a long time for it to fetch all of your mail. After it builds your initial mailbox it won't have to fetch old mail or comments from Myspace anymore, and it will be much faster. For instance, if you have 200 mail messages in your mailbox, you might have to wait 15 minutes initially. MyMySpaceMail doesn't send more than 1 request at a time to MySpace (single threaded), so it's not designed to be much faster than a human user.

There is a limit to how many comments you can fetch, this is to avoid it wasting time and resources fetching old comments, which you probably aren't interested in. The setting is in the Preferences panel.

MyMySpaceMail tries to be consistent with the state of your MySpace account. When you delete mail from the MyMySpaceMail window it will delete the mail also from your MySpace account. When you delete comments from MyMySpaceMail, it will leave the comments on your MySpace page (this is reasonable). But you won't see them again on MyMySpaceMail. When you accept or deny a friend request from MyMySpaceMail, the request will be deleted from both your MySpace page and MyMySpaceMail's window. Bulletin "deletion" is handled like comments: they are marked as read in MyMySpaceMail and you won't see them again, but they remain on your Myspace page.
